Price of 21-Karat Gold Reaches JD68 Per Gram in Jordanian Market

Amman: The price of one gram of 21-karat gold, which is the most popular among consumers in Jordan, stood at JD68 for selling and JD66 for buying at local jewelry shops on Saturday.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Jordan Jewelers Association’s Secretary General, Ribhy Allan, provided details on the buying prices per gram for other gold purities. The price for 24-karat gold was JD78.1, while 18-karat gold was priced at JD60.6, and 14-karat gold was JD45.9. Additionally, the price of a 7-gram Rashadi gold lira reached JD474, and the 8-gram English lira was priced at JD542.

Allan shared with Jordan News Agency (Petra) that there is strong demand in the local market for lira coins, gold bars, and ounces for saving and investment purposes. However, the demand for jewelry items remains moderate, and the supply is almost nonexistent. He also noted that gold closed its global trading session on Friday at $3,318 per ounce.
