Jordan Welcomes Appointment of Hussein Al-Sheikh as Vice President of Palestine

Amman: The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs on Saturday welcomed the appointment of Hussein Al-Sheikh as Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Vice President of the State of Palestine, calling it an important reform step within the Palestinian leadership’s modernization efforts.

According to Jordan News Agency, Ministry spokesperson Sufian Qudah reaffirmed Jordan’s support for the State of Palestine’s efforts to advance political action aimed at securing the full rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the right to establish an independent, sovereign Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 lines with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He also conveyed Jordan’s best wishes to Al-Sheikh in his new role.
