Umm Jimal: HH Princess Dana Firas, serving as the President of the Petra National Trust (PNT) and a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Cultural Heritage, visited the archaeological site of Umm Jimal. She was accompanied by HH Prince Hashem bin Firas during the visit, which took place on Sunday evening.
According to Jordan News Agency, the visit was part of the production process for the documentary film “On the Road,” directed by Ibrahim Shaheen and produced in conjunction with China’s national television. The documentary’s objective is to spotlight Jordan’s cultural heritage and position the nation as a significant destination on the Chinese tourism map.
Princess Dana took the opportunity to review the recent achievements of the municipality at the site, which was added to the World Heritage Tentative List at the end of July. She acknowledged the work being done to preserve and develop the site and expressed her gratitude for the ongoing efforts.
During the visit, Mayor of Umm Jimal, Hassan Ruhaibeh, provided a presentation on the municipality’s future plans aimed at further developing and safeguarding the archaeological site.
