Ghamadan: His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, inaugurated the new Public Security Officers Club in Ghamadan. During the event, King Abdullah II met with Public Security Directorate (PSD) Director Maj. Gen. Obeidallah Maaytah and several PSD directors and leaders, expressing his pride in the PSD’s personnel and their efforts in maintaining national security and the rule of law.
According to Jordan News Agency, the King was briefed on the work and future plans of various PSD departments and units. His Majesty highlighted the need for continued advancements in PSD operations through comprehensive plans for all departments. Maj. Gen. Maaytah reiterated the PSD’s dedication to progress, modernization, and growth, emphasizing their aim to effectively address challenges and uphold fair law enforcement.
The newly inaugurated club is part of the PSD’s initiative to enhance services for its personnel. King Abdullah II received a briefing on the club’s offerings, which include cultural, social, and sports services for active and retired officers and their families. Located in Ghamadan, this is the fourth Public Security club, featuring hotel rooms, seminar halls, and sports and health facilities.
During his visit, King Abdullah II also inspected the PSD’s latest vehicles, including advanced firefighting and ambulance bikes. These vehicles have been equipped with state-of-the-art technology to meet the needs of security, intelligence, and emergency response teams.
