Jeddah: Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Taha, welcomed the resumption of Syria’s membership in the organization, emphasizing full cooperation with the country to serve the OIC’s goals and principles and strengthen collective Islamic action.
According to Jordan News Agency, Taha described the decision by the Council of Foreign Ministers as a “historic” move, reaffirming the OIC and its member states’ solidarity with the Syrian people during this critical phase in the nation’s history.
Taha added that the decision aims to enable Syria to complete its political transition in a peaceful and secure manner, ensuring the restoration of its institutions, territorial integrity, and rightful place among the nations of the world.
