Amman: Inspection teams at the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply issued 11 tickets for violations during the first day of the holy month of Ramadan, most associated with failure to announce prices.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry’s media spokesperson, Yanal Barmawi, stated that its teams conducted 345 visits to commercial establishments across the Kingdom’s various governorates on Saturday. These inspection tours are set to continue in two daily shifts, covering both morning and evening periods.
The ministry has urged citizens to report any market violations via its complaints phone number (065661176), its Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/mit.gov.jo), and its website (https://www.mit.gov.jo), ensuring a proactive approach to market regulation during Ramadan.
In preparation for Ramadan, the government has taken measures to alleviate economic pressures by extending a policy initially implemented at the start of last year. This policy exempts maritime shipping fees from customs duties and both general and special sales taxes for a period of three months, aiming to ease financial burdens on citizens during the holy month.
