Amman: A delegation from 11 Arab countries on Sunday toured the Information Technology Directorate of Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) to learn about the municipality’s digital transformation policies and benefit from Jordanian expertise in this field.
According to Jordan News Agency, the delegation comprised 30 participants, including department heads and senior public employees from government sectors in Oman, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan, and Libya. The visit was part of a broader training program organized by the Hague Academy for Local Governance in the Netherlands, with the organizing team accompanying the delegates.
The Executive Director of the directorate, Sultan Kharabsheh, emphasized that GAM’s digital transformation efforts are in line with national strategies and the Economic Modernization Vision. He highlighted that His Majesty King Abdullah II prioritizes the digital shift to bolster Jordan’s standing in the digital and technological arena.
Furthermore, the Head of the Strategic Projects Department, Lana Adaileh, provided an overview of GAM’s role in digital transformation. She underscored the significance of this initiative in improving government services available to citizens.
