Cairo: Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League, Hossam Zaki, stated that the position of Jordan and Egypt in rejecting plans to displace Palestinians from the Gaza Strip is “robust.”
According to Jordan News Agency, Zaki emphasized a “unified” Arab stance against the displacement of Palestinians from their land, advocating for these plans to be addressed with “complete” pan-Arab harmony. He highlighted the importance of maintaining solidarity among Arab nations in supporting Palestinian rights and preventing any forced displacement.
Zaki also mentioned ongoing discussions about rebuilding Gaza with the help of the Palestinian workforce, under the supervision of the Palestinian Authority. He stressed that the “future of the Gaza Strip belongs to Palestinians,” indicating the Arab League’s commitment to ensuring that any reconstruction efforts prioritize Palestinian agency and leadership.
