Senate Head: Jordan Firmly Stands Against Designs to Target Its Security, Liquidate Palestinian Issue

Amman: Senate President Faisal Fayez reiterated Jordan’s rejection of scenarios put forth by the US administration, or any designs that target its national security, liquidate the Palestinian issue and displace Palestinians.

According to Jordan News Agency, Fayez stated in remarks to Al Mamlaka Television that Jordan possesses the ability to address challenges, having faced and surmounted significant hurdles since its creation in 1921. He emphasized that Jordan continues as a strong and resilient state. He highlighted Jordan’s strategic geopolitical location as a pillar of stability in the Middle East, a role recognized by regional countries and the West, including the United States. Fayez noted that chaos in Jordan would result in chaos in the entire region, hence it is not in anyone’s interest to compromise the Kingdom’s security and stability.

Fayez underscored that Jordan’s security and stability are paramount, attributing its safety to effective and balanced diplomacy and international relations, led by His Majesty the King. These efforts have shielded Jordan from numerous dangers. He mentioned the significance of His Majesty the King’s upcoming visit to the United States, which aims to engage with the US administration, Congress, the Defense Ministry, and other institutions to mitigate any repercussions from President Donald Trump’s initiative.

He also touched upon divisions within the Republican Party regarding the initiative, and noted protests and opposition from Democrats due to the potential instability it could cause in the Middle East. Fayez acknowledged the positions of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, and Oman, all of which reject the US administration’s initiative and support His Majesty King Abdullah’s efforts to resolve the Palestinian issue.
