Zarqa University Showcases Research at Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Conference in Barcelona

Barcelona: The Faculty of Engineering Technology (FET) at Zarqa University made a notable contribution to the 9th International Conference on Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Research 2025, which took place in Barcelona, Spain.

According to Jordan News Agency, Osama Ghazal, a distinguished faculty member from Zarqa University, presented a research paper titled “CFD Study of Dual-Fuel Methanol-Diesel Combustion for Eco-Friendly Engines.” This research aimed to advance combustion standards with the goal of improving engine efficiency and reducing emissions.

The study specifically examined the influence of diesel injection timing and engine speed on performance and emissions, employing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology. Additionally, a diesel engine model with a variable injection system was developed to ascertain the optimal fuel injection angle for cleaner and more efficient combustion using a methanol-diesel blend.

In a statement, Ghazal highlighted the significance of this research in advancing eco-friendly engine technologies. Such advancements are aligned with the global effort to minimize environmental impacts while enhancing the economic performance of internal combustion engines.
