According to Jordan News Agency, the assault occurred near a road used for an illegal settlement, where Israeli forces engaged with the elderly man. Aqraba Municipality President Salah Jaber reported that the man suffered severe injuries during the encounter. Despite being taken to a hospital for treatment, he was later pronounced dead, underscoring the violence that often accompanies disputes in the area.
