Surging Sea Waves Devastate 10,000 Tents in Gaza.

Gaza: Surging sea waves have devastated 10,000 tents over the past two days, as reported by the Gaza Strip’s Government Media Office. The destruction is attributed to the latest weather depression, which has exacerbated the already dire living conditions in the region.

According to Jordan News Agency, field assessment teams have determined that 81% of the tents housing displaced persons are now unfit for use. Out of 135,000 tents, 110,000 require immediate replacement due to the severe weather conditions, winter storms, and rising sea waves that have caused extensive damage.

The Government Media Office has highlighted an impending humanitarian disaster in Gaza, as winter and harsh weather conditions worsen the plight of two million people left without adequate shelter. This crisis is further intensified by the deteriorating condition of the tents, ongoing closure of crossings into the Gaza Strip, and an Israeli blockade that prevents the entry of much-needed 250,000 tents and caravans into the territory.

I
n light of the escalating crisis, the office has urged the international community, along with humanitarian and relief organizations, to urgently intervene and provide much-needed assistance to the displaced population in Gaza.
