Irbid: The value of certificates of origin issued by the Irbid Chamber of Industry last month reached $100.3 million, marking an 18.5 percent increase compared to $84.6 million in the same month last year, according to Chamber figures. The report highlighted that 1,214 certificates of origin were issued last month, compared to 940 during the same period last year.
According to Jordan News Agency, textiles and leatherware led the exports with a total of $88.8 million. They were followed by food and agricultural products at $4.5 million, medical industries at $2.7 million, while the remaining exports were comprised of chemicals and cosmetics, plastics and rubber industries, engineering, electricals, IT, packaging, paper and cardboard, office supplies, and construction.
The report also pointed out that Al-Hassan Industrial City was responsible for more than 95 percent of the total exports. Hani Abu Hassan, the chamber’s president, attributed the growth to five key industrial sectors, which accounted for approx
imately 93 percent of the exports.
