Qatari Newspapers Editorials

Doha: In their Monday editorials, Qatari newspapers addressed topics on the local and Arab scenes. They warned that the ongoing communications and intensive regional and international diplomatic movements to contain and de-escalate the dangerous developments in the region are difficult to predict in light of the international disregard for the continued Israeli crimes and massacres.

In local affairs, the newspapers noted that Qatar’s trade balance surplus confirms the state’s successful progress in diversifying its economy, increasing its non-oil contribution to the GDP. The Qatari economy has achieved unprecedented accomplishments in the recent period, continuing to record accelerated growth rates and leading the growth rates in the region, as attested by international institutions and rating agencies.

Al-Sharq newspaper said that whenever joint Qatari mediation efforts with the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States come close to pushing the warring parties in Gaza towards an agreement ensuring a ce
asefire and ending the Israeli aggression on Gaza, the Israeli entity and its extreme right-wing government led by Benjamin Netanyahu block these serious efforts by actions that expand the conflict, ignite more fires in the region, and threaten regional security.

The newspaper pointed out that Israel’s return to assassination policies is an attempt to escape from the obligations of reaching a comprehensive ceasefire deal and exchanging prisoners and hostages, with no regard to human life or the consequences of escalating the conflict into a full-scale regional war.

Al-Sharq believes that the extremist and racist Israeli government, through its reckless actions and unilateral measures that disregard international laws, bears full responsibility for the political deadlock and the failure of negotiations to end the ongoing genocide in Gaza, as well as the explosive situation in the Middle East.

The newspaper concluded its editorial by saying that the ongoing communications and intensive regional and internati
onal diplomatic movements to contain the severe developments in the region have unpredictable outcomes in light of the international disregard for Israeli arrogance in the region.

Similarly, Al-Watan newspaper said that the Israeli machine continues to claim more lives, especially women, children, and the elderly. The occupation forces continue bombing refugee tents, especially around Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah, causing a large fire. Since Oct. 7, the death toll of the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 39,583 martyrs and 91,398 injured, following two massacres against families, resulting in 33 martyrs and 118 injuries in the past 24 hours.

The newspaper added that depending on the failure, fatigue, surrender, and withdrawal of the resistance is a failed Israeli and US bet. The resistance, backed by the Palestinian people, has set the finest examples of steadfastness despite disasters, crises, hunger, disease, martyrdom, home demolitions, lack of services and aid, water
and electricity cuts, and the journey of displacement.

Al-Watan concluded by stating that Israel is well aware that it is waging a war of revenge against the Palestinian people and continues in its attempt to exterminate as many Palestinians as possible, while the world watches silently, without moving to stop this genocide.
