Deputy Governor of Makkah Region Inspects Holy Sites Ahead of 1445 AH Hajj Season

Makkah, Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz conducted a preliminary tour of the Holy Sites to assess the preparations of various organizations and facilities for the upcoming Hajj season in 1445 AH.

The inspection tour was carried out under the directives of the Kingdom’s leadership and with the guidance of Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Governor of the Makkah Region, and Chairman of the Central Hajj Committee Prince Khalid bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz.

Accompanied by officials from relevant authorities, Prince Saud bin Mishaal visited Arafat, where he received an explanation about the four accommodation centers in the Holy Sites.

Two centers are in Arafat and can accommodate 9,300 Hajj pilgrims, while a center in Al-Muaisim has a capacity of 6,000 pilgrims and includes three service buildings. The fourth center in Muzdalifah can accommodate up to 28,000 pilgrims and consists of five residential, administrative, and healthcare buildings.

n Mishaal inspected the models of the pilgrims’ camps in Arafat and reviewed the preparations being made. He then visited Mount Arafat and learned about the project to renovate the surrounding areas, covering an area of over 200,000 square meters. The project includes public bus stops, lighting for the mount and its surroundings, water sprinkling poles, and drinking areas.

The deputy governor of Makkah also visited the project aimed at improving the descent stations in Muzdalifah, which covers an area of 27,000 square meters. The project was implemented to accommodate up to 18,000 additional pilgrims. He was briefed on an initiative implemented by the Kidana Development Company in collaboration with the third sector to provide green areas.

Prince Saud bin Mishaal was informed about the first phase of the Holy Sites path project, an ecofriendly project that contributes to reducing temperatures. It involves the development of the courtyards of the Masha’r Haram Mosque and the rest areas in Muzdalifah. It also
includes measures to facilitate the movement of elderly and disabled pedestrians, with the aim of providing improved services and convenience for pilgrims.

During his visit to Mina, the deputy governor inspected the development project in the valley, covering an area of 33,000 square meters. He received a briefing on the project, designed according to the latest technical specifications while considering the architectural identity of the Holy Sites. The area can accommodate up to 37,000 pilgrims.

Concluding the tour, Prince Saud bin Mishaal visited the Government Departments Complex in Al Mashair, where he was briefed on the preparations and readiness to provide services to the government system that does not directly serve pilgrims.

The complex covers an area of 1.1 million square meters and accommodates over 10,000 employees. It has contributed to saving about 23% of the area of the Mina holy site, which has been utilized to accommodate a larger number of pilgrims.
