5th National Moot Court Competition concludes

The fifth edition of the National Moot Court Competition in International Humanitarian Law (IHL) concluded on Wednesday, organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

With participation of 16 local private and public universities, the event aimed at educating students with the different aspects within IHL, stimulating their ability to innovate through critical thinking, and developing methods of learning in higher education institutions.

A team of law students from the University of Petra took first place, while the Award for the Best Speaker went to Hera’a Sha’aban from Yarmouk University, Rakan Al Wazani from World Islamic Science University and Raghad Hadawi from Applied Science University, winning the first, second and third places, respectively.

Head of the ICRC delegation in Jordan Sarah Avrillaud said “the competition was fierce,” appreciating the good challenge posed by the runners-up.
