4,500 Trees Planted in Na’ur District Under National Afforestation Campaign

Na'ur: The Ministry of Local Administration, in partnership with the municipalities of Na'ur, Hisban, and Umm al-Basatin, organized a large-scale afforestation initiative as part of the "National Afforestation and Greening Campaign - Towards a Greener Jordan." During the activity, approximately 4,500 trees were planted in these municipal areas.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry of Local Administration stated that the initiative is part of a plan, carried out in cooperation with all of Jordan's municipalities, to plant more than 300,000 trees this year. The ministry highlighted that the campaign is being implemented in collaboration with the Ministries of Youth and Agriculture, with active participation from the "Nahno-We" national youth engagement and volunteering platform, and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF).

Fifty participants from youth centers, the "Nahno" platform, and the University of Jordan were involved in the activity. The campaign aims to expand forest cover, increase green spaces, and support national efforts to protect the environment, mitigate the effects of climate change, and achieve a sustainable environmental impact.

The ministry's statement also recognized the efforts of the Ministry of Youth, its partners, and all volunteers, noting that the campaign is aligned with national strategic policies aimed at promoting sustainable development and protecting the Jordanian environment.
