Amman: The Third International Conference on Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development opened in Amman on Wednesday under the patronage of HRH Princess Basma Bint Ali, with the Bright Minds Academy serving as the organizer.
According to Jordan News Agency, Sharifa Bodour Bint Abdulilah, Chairwoman of the Academy’s Board of Directors, emphasized that the conference aligns with the national initiative that named 2025 the Year of Artificial Intelligence. She described this announcement as a commitment to transforming institutional performance and integrating modern technologies as a crucial engine for development.
She highlighted that the gathering supports national efforts to implement Jordan’s Digital Transformation Strategy, especially in raising government employees’ awareness of AI and building a supportive ecosystem for its growth. The conference commenced with a high-level dialogue featuring presidents of public and private universities who discussed the expanding role of artificial intelligence in driving sustainability within educational institutions and communities.
Participants concurred that AI has evolved from a supporting tool to a strategic partner in shaping a balanced, sustainable future. Throughout the event, sessions explore AI’s role in advancing banking operations, enhancing sustainable energy solutions, and supporting applications in the oil and gas sector.
Further discussions address AI in air transport management, water and crop management, sustainable health, machine learning, and proactive cybersecurity.
