39 People with Disabilities Empowered Through ‘Life’ Project Training

Amman: Minister of Social Development Wafaa Bani Mustafa attended the graduation ceremony for participants in the "Life" project at the Royal Cultural Center on Thursday, organized by the Action for Humanity (AFH) - Jordan Branch.

According to Jordan News Agency, Bani Mustafa remarked that the AFH-implemented program serves as a developmental and social model for empowerment and capacity building. The program offered essential skills for beneficiaries to initiate their own sustainable projects, fostering self-employment and productivity opportunities, thereby contributing to active economic participation.

The program's specialized training focused on handicrafts, 3D printing, and cosmetics. It was implemented in the Karak and Mafraq governorates and included training in administrative and financial skills pertinent to project management. Bani Mustafa hailed the graduation as a testament to determination and perseverance, marking it as a success story.

The minister also highlighted the ministry's ongoing efforts to support economic empowerment for vulnerable groups through the Productive Families Program. This initiative supports productive and sustainable projects, enhancing economic family conditions and facilitating access to employment opportunities.

Bani Mustafa emphasized the significance of the involvement of 39 trainees with disabilities, aligning with the national trend of integrating people with disabilities. This integration is mirrored in the comprehensive view of their rights, encompassing services in early intervention, inclusive services, education, employment, health, and other fundamental rights.

Khuloud Tawila, Representative of the Action for Humanity office, noted that the project exemplifies a model of empowerment rooted in work and dignity. She emphasized that women were equipped with practical skills applicable in the labor market, paving the way for a more assured future for participants. The project facilitated the graduation of 300 participants, including women with disabilities, enhancing opportunities for economic and social inclusion.
