29 grain ships dropped anchor at Aqaba port in 2021

Aqaba ports received a total of 29 vessels loaded with grain during 2021, to support the Kingdom’s strategic food stock.

Speaking to Petra on Thursday, Director of Aqaba Directorate of Industry and Trade, Suhaila Bdour, said that among these vessels, 15 were loaded with 884,430 tons of wheat, and 14 others were loaded with 854,316 tons of barley.

“The Directorate’s shipping department manages the process of examining the grains’ samples, unloading the ships and storing the wheat and barley into the Aqaba grain silos in accordance with the highest standards of professionalism,” she added.
