Jordan Condemns Drone Attack on Kuwait’s Northern Border Posts from Iraq


Amman: Jordan condemned the attack that targeted two locations at Kuwait’s northern land border posts by two drones launched from Iraq.



According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed Jordan’s “absolute” solidarity with the Kuwaiti government and people, affirming the Kingdom’s “full” support for Kuwait in all its measures to protect its sovereignty, security, and the safety of its citizens.



Jordan also rejected and condemned the violation of state sovereignty and the attempt to threaten the security and stability of the region.

Ajloun Spring Festival Extended Due to Exceptional Visitor Turnout


Ajloun: The Ajloun Spring Festival at the cable car station has been extended until next Saturday, as announced by the Ajloun Cable Car management on Saturday. The extension comes in response to a significant increase in visitors.



According to Jordan News Agency, the management of the Ajloun Telefrik, part of the Jordan Free and Development Zones Group, reported an “exceptional influx of visitors” on Friday, with 5,728 people visiting in a single day. This surge in attendance underscores the site’s growing popularity as a weekend tourist destination.



The management emphasized its dedication to enhancing the visitor experience and improving service quality, thereby solidifying the Ajloun Cable Car’s status as a premier tourist attraction in the Kingdom. The favorable spring weather in the region and the unique experience offered by the cable car, featuring stunning natural scenery and panoramic views, contributed to the high turnout during the three-day event.



Additionally, the operating staff of the cable car undertook extensive efforts to ensure smooth traffic flow. Field teams worked tirelessly to manage the large number of passengers while upholding the highest standards of public safety and providing quality service.

Securities Commission Board Approves Second Private Sector Sukuk Issuance on Amman Stock Exchange


Amman: The Jordan Securities Commission Board of Commissioners has given the green light for the second private sector issuance of the first tranche of restricted Mudaraba Sukuk, tradable on the Amman Stock Exchange. This issuance, by Bandar Islamic Finance Company, is valued at JD10 million.



According to Jordan News Agency, this decision is a significant step in efforts to stimulate the Islamic Sukuk market. It aims to provide financing and investment options in alignment with the vision for economic modernization. This issuance is part of the company’s broader plan to release multiple tranches, with a total value of JD100 million.

Aqaba Chamber of Commerce and Egypt’s Red Sea Chamber Sign MoU for Enhanced Economic and Tourism Cooperation


Aqaba: Aqaba Chamber of Commerce and Egypt’s Chamber Of Commerce – Red Sea signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Saturday to enhance economic and tourism cooperation and explore the prospect of launching a direct shipping line connecting Aqaba with Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.



According to Jordan News Agency, the MoU was inked during a visit by a delegation of the Aqaba chamber to Hurghada. The Jordanian side was represented by the chamber’s vice president Ahmed Kiswani, while the Egyptian side was headed by Red Sea Chamber of Commerce President Khaled Abdel-Jalil.



Kiswani described the agreement as a key step towards strengthening economic cooperation and improving the efficiency of trade exchange. He added that discussions focused on enhancing food supply chains and launching a direct passenger shipping line between Aqaba, Hurghada, and Sharm El Sheikh. This initiative is expected to support tourism and investment and bolster the maritime transport sector and related logistics services.



The talks also addressed cooperation in specialized tourism, particularly through strengthening partnerships between diving centers in Aqaba and their counterparts in the Red Sea. The discussions included exchanging expertise and marketing a joint tourism product that reflects the environmental diversity and coral reefs of both regions.



Kiswani highlighted that the signing enhances Aqaba’s position as an economic and tourism hub in the Red Sea region and opens new horizons for investment in logistics, food industries, and integrated tourism.



Additionally, the Aqaba Chamber of Commerce team engaged in discussions with Arab Bridge Maritime Company Director Adnan Abadleh to explore ways to boost maritime transport and facilitate trade and travel via the Aqaba-Nuweiba sea route.

Gulf Cooperation Council Talks Strategic Partnership with EU


Nicosia: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jassem Mohammed Budaiwi discussed strengthening the strategic partnership between the GCC and the European Union to support regional and international stability.



According to Jordan News Agency, Budaiwi made the remarks during an informal meeting between EU leaders and regional partners, attended by Arab and European heads of state in Nicosia, Cyprus.



He called for ensuring energy security and expanding strategic interconnection channels, stressing that such efforts would enhance infrastructure integration and serve shared interests.

Israeli Forces Launch Two Raids on Southern Lebanon; Kill Four


Yahmor al-shaqif: Four Lebanese civilians were killed on Saturday in two raids carried out by Israeli forces on the town of Yahmor al-Shaqif in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese security sources.



According to Jordan News Agency, the sources added that Israeli forces continued shelling several southern towns, including Houla, Qantara, Qusayr, Khiam, Beit Leef, Yater, Qounine, and the city of Bint Jbeil amid ongoing military escalation in the region.
