FM, Qatari Counterpart Condemn Iranian Attacks in Phone Call


Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi held a telephone call on Sunday with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar. The two ministers discussed the Iranian attacks on Jordan, Qatar, and countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and affirmed their condemnation of the attacks.



According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi and Sheikh Mohammed stressed absolute solidarity in confronting what they described as a serious threat to the security of Jordan, Qatar, and other Arab states. They also discussed prospects for restoring calm and de-escalating tensions in the region.

Army Foils Drug Smuggling Attempts Via E-Guided Balloons, Arrests Infiltrators


Moscow: The Eastern Military Zone: The Eastern Military Zone of the Jordan Armed Forces thwarted four attempts at dawn on Sunday to smuggle large quantities of narcotics carried by electronically guided balloons. Border Guard units detected the balloons and dealt with them, bringing down their payloads inside Jordanian territory in coordination with security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department. The seized materials were transferred to the competent authorities to take the necessary measures.



According to Jordan News Agency, in a separate incident, the Northern Military Zone on Saturday foiled an attempt by four people of Arab nationalities to infiltrate one of its border fronts while attempting to cross the border illegally. Border Guard forces detected four individuals, applying the rules of engagement. They were arrested without injuries and referred to the competent authorities for legal proceedings.

Saudi Arabia Says Two Killed After Military Projectile Falls on Residential Site in Al-Kharj


Al-kharj: The spokesman of the Saudi Civil Defense said its forces dealt with the fall of a military projectile on Sunday on a residential site belonging to a maintenance and cleaning company in Al-Kharj Governorate.



According to Jordan News Agency, the incident resulted in the death of two expatriates of Indian and Bangladeshi nationalities, the injury of 12 Bangladeshi residents, and material damage.



The spokesman stressed that attempts to target civilian objects constitute a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, noting that the procedures adopted in such cases were implemented.

FM Offers Condolences to Kuwait Over Deaths of Border Officers, Affirms Solidarity


Amman: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi on Sunday called Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister of Kuwait, to express Jordan’s condolences over the deaths of two Kuwaiti officers from the General Directorate of Land Border Security in a brutal Iranian attack. Safadi stressed Jordan’s support for Kuwait in confronting Iranian attacks on its citizens and territory.



According to Jordan News Agency, the two ministers discussed the implications of Iran’s ongoing attacks on Arab states and warned of their consequences. Sheikh Jarrah affirmed his country’s solidarity with Jordan against Iranian attacks on its territory.
