94 Israelis Hospitalized Following Iranian Missile Strikes: Health Ministry

Tel Aviv: At least 94 people were admitted to hospitals in Israel due to injuries from the latest overnight Iranian strikes, Israel’s Health Ministry said Wednesday.

According to Anadolu Agency, of those injured, one person is in moderate condition, 85 are classified as having minor injuries, and five are still undergoing medical evaluation with their condition yet to be determined.

Channel 12 reported that the missile strikes caused damage to a building in central Israel and that firefighting teams responded to 20 vehicles that caught fire. Missile fragments reportedly struck a building in northern Israel, while falling missiles and debris caused many fires in open areas.

Regional tensions have escalated since Friday, when Israel launched airstrikes on multiple sites across Iran, including military and nuclear facilities, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory strikes. Israeli authorities said at least 24 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks.

Meanwhile, in Iran, 585 people have been killed and more than 1,300 wounded in the Israeli assault, according to Iranian media reports.

Iranian State TV Releases Visuals Allegedly Showing Downed Israeli Drone

Tehran: Iranian state TV on Wednesday published visuals of what it claims to be an Israeli Hermes 900 drone shot down in the Isfahan province. It reported that Iran’s air defense units intercepted and downed the drone in the eastern part of Isfahan, adding that it was equipped with eight advanced missiles.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Israeli Army stated that an Israeli drone had been shot down in Iran. The drone was reportedly hit by an Iranian surface-to-air missile during nighttime operations, with the army acknowledging that the aircraft crashed within Iran. The Israeli Army emphasized that there was no risk of any information being obtained from the downed drone.

Since the start of Israel’s attacks on Iran on June 13, Iranian sources have announced the downing of four Israeli fighter jets and numerous UAVs (drones) and UCAVs (armed drones). However, no visual evidence of the aircraft had been shared until now.

On June 13, Israel launched large-scale attacks targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities across several cities, as well as high-ranking military command centers. Iranian media reported Wednesday that the death toll from Israeli airstrikes across Tehran and other populated areas has risen to 585, with at least 1,326 people injured since the attacks started last week.

In retaliation, Iran’s military launched ballistic missiles at Israel, killing 24 people and wounding over 500, according to reports. Numerous countries, including Turkey, have condemned Israel’s actions.

Trump Grants 90-Day Extension for TikTok Divestment to Avoid Ban

Washington: President Donald Trump will grant another extension to ByteDance, the Chinese parent company of TikTok, allowing it more time to sell the platform to a US buyer and avoid a nationwide ban, press reports said Tuesday. The extension comes under a 2024 law that prohibits the short video platform from operating in the US unless it is divested from its Beijing-based owner.

According to Anadolu Agency, the law was upheld by the Supreme Court earlier this year. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt noted that Trump will sign an executive order this week extending the deadline by 90 days. ‘President Trump does not want TikTok to go dark,’ NBC quoted her as saying. The platform currently boasts approximately 170 million users in the US.

The platform had briefly gone offline before Trump’s second inauguration but was restored after he promised a delay. Leavitt stated the administration will use the extension period ‘working to ensure this deal is closed so that the American people can continue to use TikTok with the assurance that their data is safe and secure.’

Trump had previously delayed the ban for 75 days on his first day back in office. With no buyer emerging by the April deadline, the new extension pushes the cutoff to early July. Earlier Tuesday, Trump mentioned that any deal ‘probably has to get China approval,’ but expressed optimism, adding: ‘I think President Xi will ultimately approve it.’

Russia and Oman Discuss De-Escalation Efforts Amid Israel-Iran Conflict

Moscow: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held a phone call with his Omani counterpart, Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, to discuss the rising tensions in the Middle East following Israel’s large-scale military operation against Iran, the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

According to Anadolu Agency, both sides stressed the urgency of ending hostilities and warned against the further geographical expansion of the conflict, which they said could have dire consequences for the broader region. Lavrov expressed gratitude towards Oman for its mediation efforts, particularly in relation to contentious issues linked to Iran’s nuclear program.

The ministers reached a consensus on the importance of shifting the confrontation onto a diplomatic track and establishing conditions for a sustainable and inclusive negotiation process. The phone call was initiated by the Omani side, the ministry noted.

Russia Warns US Against Possible Military Assistance to Israel Amid Iran Conflict

Ankara: Russia on Wednesday warned the US against providing any form of direct military aid to Israel amid the growing escalation with Iran, with a senior official saying even hypothetical discussion of such involvement could inflame the situation.

According to Anadolu Agency, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told the news agency Interfax, “We warn Washington against even speculative, theoretical options of direct military assistance to Israel. Such a step would radically destabilize the entire situation.” Ryabkov criticized the US engagement in the region, emphasizing that Washington has historically remained “at the forefront of all processes,” and warned that any intervention now would not be a deviation but an escalation.

His remarks came days after Israel launched a series of massive airstrikes on Iranian targets on June 13, claiming it was aimed at disrupting Tehran’s nuclear program. In response, Iran began firing missiles into Israeli territory, sparking concerns of a full-scale regional war. Israeli authorities reported that at least 24 people have been killed and hundreds injured since then in Iranian missile attacks. Meanwhile, in Iran, 585 people have been killed and mor
