WHY ROSEN LAW: We encourage investors to select qualified counsel with a track record of success in leadership roles. Often, firms issuing notices do not have comparable experience, resources, or any meaningful peer recognition. Many of these firms do not actually litigate securities class actions, but are merely middlemen that refer clients or partner with law firms that actually litigate the cases. Be wise in selecting counsel. The Rosen Law Firm represents investors throughout the globe, concentrating its practice in securities class actions and shareholder derivative litigation. Rosen Law Firm achieved the largest ever securities class action settlement against a Chinese Company at the time. Rosen Law Firm was Ranked No. 1 by ISS Securities Class Action Services for number of securities class action settlements in 2017. The firm has been ranked in the top 4 each year since 2013 and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for investors. In 2019 alone the firm secured over $438 million for investors. In 2020, founding partner Laurence Rosen was named by law360 as a Titan of Plaintiffs’ Bar. Many of the firm’s attorneys have been recognized by Lawdragon and Super Lawyers.

DETAILS OF THE CASE: According to the lawsuit, defendants made false and/or misleading statements and/or failed to disclose that: (1) despite contrary representations to investors, a lack of awareness of RYTELO among health care providers, the weekly monitoring requirement, and seasonality and existing competition would impair Geron’s ability to capitalize on the purportedly significant unmet need for the drug; (2) accordingly, the RYTELO launch was unlikely to be as profitable as Geron had led investors to believe; (3) as a result, Geron’s business and/or financial prospects were overstated; and (4) as a result, Geron’s public statements were materially false and misleading at all relevant times. When the true details entered the market, the lawsuit claims that investors suffered damages.

Light Rain Forecast in Several Regions Across Jordan, Reports JMD

Amman: Temperatures on Saturday will be 5-7 degrees Celsius lower than their seasonal average and the weather will be relatively cold almost nationwide and moderate in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. Light showers of rain are expected to take place until noon hours in the Kingdom’s western areas, said Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD).

According to Jordan News Agency, the JMD warns in its report of the risk of reduced horizontal visibility in the morning hours due to fog over high mountainous areas and eastern plains. On Sunday, light downpour is likely to take place for a short period in the Kingdom’s northern regions.

In the late evening hours, the Kingdom is expected to be gradually affected by an atmospheric instability. Showers are expected during the night in Jordan’s southern regions, including the city of Aqaba, which may be often accompanied by thunder. The department noted showers will later extend to the Kingdom’s eastern and central-eastern regions.

Also today, temperatures in
the capital Amman will hit a high of 15 degrees Celsius and a low of 9 degrees, while the port city of Aqaba will see temperatures of 25 degrees Celsius during the day, sliding to 15 degrees at night.

Jordanian Companies to Attend Saudi Food Manufacturing 2025

Riyadh: Jordanian companies specializing in food manufacturing are scheduled to begin their participation in the Saudi Food Manufacturing 2025, set to kick off tomorrow in the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The Jordan Exporters Association (JEA) is organizing the Kingdom’s participation in the exhibition for the second time.

According to Jordan News Agency, the three-day event features over 550 international brands, with pavilions representing several countries, including France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Turkey, India, Switzerland, Spain, Pakistan, Egypt, China, and Italy. In a statement, JEA Chairman Ahmed Khudari expressed that the goal of Jordanian industries’ presence at this event is to diversify and increase national exports and learn about the latest developments, technologies, and innovations in the food manufacturing industry.

Khudari noted that the participation comes within the framework of JEA’s efforts aimed at enabling national companies to promote their products and open new marketing horizons in foreign markets, especially amid international presence at this specialized event. This step, he added, represents an important opportunity for Jordanian companies to learn about developments in the sector, exchange expertise, explore opportunities for cooperation and partnerships, and possibly conclude commercial deals that enhance their international presence.

Khudari emphasized that the Saudi market is one of the most important markets for Jordanian industrial exports, given the two kingdoms’ strong relations at various levels, as well as their geographical proximity. He also highlighted that the Jordanian industry has achieved remarkable development in recent years in terms of quality and competitive pricing, enabling it to reach over 150 global markets.

Additionally, Khudari pointed out that the growth of industrial exports plays a pivotal role in driving the national economy and achieving desired growth rates, as well as creating more job opportunities, attracting new investments in the industrial sector, and supporting the Kingdom’s foreign currency reserves. He urged Jordanian companies operating in the food industry to seize the opportunity to attend the event to promote their products, especially amid the expected large turnout of exhibitors, brand owners, experts, and traders from across the world.

Khudari also highlighted JEA’s close cooperation and coordination with Jordan and Amman Chambers of Industry and Export House. This partnership aims to support the export industries sector and promote Jordanian products by enhancing their presence in specialized international exhibitions and facilitating their access to vital and strategic markets.

Israeli Fresh Strikes Kill 4 Gazans

According to Jordan News Agency, civil defense crews were unable to recover two Gazan martyrs following a strike on their house in the Al-Sha’af area, east of Gaza City. Additionally, Israeli shelling resulted in the death of a young man after a house was bombed southeast of Khan Yunis, in the southern region of the coastal strip.

Old Oak Forests in Zarqa’s Birin District Face ‘Mixed’ Challenges, Says Official

Zarqa: The old oak forests in Birin district in central Zarqa governorate constitute “a natural heritage” spanning thousands of years. The forests are home to over 100,000 oak and Greek juniper (Juniperus excelsa) trees, some date back to over 1,000 years old.

According to Jordan News Agency, Director of Zarqa Agriculture Directorate, Hussein Khalidi, stated that these forests, which are viewed as the “green lungs of Zarqa,” face “complex” challenges that threaten their survival. Khalidi noted these hardships relate to climate change, which has led to decreased rainfall and increased temperatures, disrupting the thermal and humidity balance needed for oak trees. He added that repeated droughts have weakened these trees’ capability to resist agricultural pests, mainly bark beetle, which accelerate their deterioration.

Khalidi also referred to the spread of Juniperus excelsa trees, which deplete water resources and soil at the expense of the oak forests. Additionally, he warned of fungal diseases that attack the tree’s immune system, noting that these factors combined are “accelerating” the phenomenon of “oak decline.”

Khalidi noted that urban and agricultural expansion have reduced forest areas by 15% over the past decade, according to Ministry of Agriculture statistics. This situation has increased competition for oaks with other plant species for limited resources and weakened their ability to reproduce naturally over time, he pointed out.

On other difficulties, he noted overgrazing and illegal logging operations, despite the “stricter” penalties imposed by Agriculture Law No. 13 of 2015, continue to exacerbate the crisis. Regarding the forest distribution, Khalidi said trees are concentrated in Birin district, west of Zarqa governorate, particularly in Aalouk area, which are “the densest,” then comes the forests in Masra, Kamsha, Makman, Sarout, and Birin landscapes.

Khalidi announced these areas form a “unique” natural fabric that attracts approximately 60,000 visitors during holidays. However, he revealed a “comprehensive” plan that is implemented by the Zarqa Agriculture Directorate to address these challenges. The scheme, he noted, aims to strengthen foot and mobile patrols to prevent overgrazing, imposing fines of up to JD5,000 against violators, and launch awareness campaigns on the importance of forest conservation and efforts to support ecotourism projects.

Continuing: “Despite severity of the challenges, the combination of preventive, legislative, and societal measures demonstrates the possibility of preserving this natural heritage.” Khalidi stressed that the oak forests will remain a “living testament” to Jordan’s environmental history.
