Mafraq: The Health Department at the Greater Mafraq Municipality (GMM) destroyed 200 kg of sloppy chicken meat items on Sunday.
According to Jordan News Agency, Health and Markets Director, Saad Jaraydeh, stated that the department’s personnel destroyed the poultry products after the Royal Department of Environmental Protection police seized the quantity in a private vehicle entering from outside Mafraq governorate. The products were deemed unfit for human consumption.
Jaraydeh highlighted that the poultry was discovered in plastic bags stored in the vehicle’s trunk under unsanitary conditions, making them unsuitable for poultry storage.
The driver of the vehicle has been handed over to the competent police authorities and is awaiting referral to the administrative governor for necessary legal action regarding the incident.
In addition, police issued a ticket against the vehicle for transporting food items in violation of the law.
