2 tourist businesses shut down, 49 fined for breaching preventive measures

The inspection teams of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in cooperation with other relevant authorities, have shut down two tourist facilities and fined 49 others in July for not complying with public safety requirements.

A statement by the ministry on Sunday said that the inspection teams conducted some 933 visits to various tourist businesses, including hotels and restaurants across the Kingdom.

The ministry indicated that 700 tourist businesses have adhered to public safety and health protection standards, noting that 73 others have been notified.

The ministry also urged tourist establishments to abide by the defense orders’ instructions, which stipulate maintaining physical distancing, wearing masks and providing hookah service in the outer squares.
