Amman: The Anti-Narcotics Department has successfully apprehended 18 suspected drug dealers and promoters in a series of 10 major cases and security campaigns conducted across the Kingdom in recent days. The Public Security Directorate (PSD) revealed that these operations led to the seizure of significant quantities of narcotics and firearms.
According to Jordan News Agency, authorities in Amman carried out multiple operations resulting in the arrest of several high-risk suspects. In the largest operation, two suspected traffickers were detained following weeks of surveillance, culminating in the seizure of 83 slabs of hashish and 10 kilograms of marijuana. Another operation led to the arrest of three prominent dealers in possession of 21 slabs of hashish, 3 kilograms of marijuana, and 300 grams of crystal methamphetamine.
Further operations led to the apprehension of two suspects, described as suppliers, found with 1.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and three pistols. Additional quantities of hashish were seized in separate operations both in and south of the capital.
In Madaba, law enforcement arrested two suspected dealers with 121 slabs of hashish, and three others were detained in related raids. Meanwhile, in the Ramtha District located in the far north of the Kingdom, a suspect was arrested with 1.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine.
In the Southern Region, operations on the Desert Highway resulted in the arrest of two suspects with 28 slabs of hashish. Additionally, a suspected dealer was detained in Karak Governorate with six slabs of hashish. The PSD reiterated its commitment to continuing anti-narcotics operations targeting trafficking and promotion activities nationwide.
