Amman: A total of 135,000 taxpayers have registered in Jordan’s National Electronic Invoicing System from various economic and professional sectors, including union members, Director General of the Income and Sales Tax Department (ISTD), Dr. Hussam Abu Ali, announced.
According to Jordan News Agency, Abu Ali urged all legally obligated parties to register in the e-billing system and to issue proper invoices to avoid legal fines. He acknowledged companies, establishments, and individuals who have already registered and are issuing “proper” bills electronically.
To prevent fraud, Abu Ali appealed to software departments to ensure full compliance with tax legislation and avoid providing software that violates system terms or enables taxpayers to conceal parts of their sales. Non-compliance may result in liability.
He also mentioned that the ISTD has listed committed suppliers on its website, allowing companies, establishments, and individuals to verify retailers who have joined the system. This step aims to ensure compliance with Law No. (2) of 2025, ensuring e-bills adhere to system specifications.
Abu Ali highlighted that entities and individuals can verify suppliers who have officially joined the system through the link provided: (https://istd.gov.jo/AR/Pages/Billing Sectors).
