Amman: The 10th Jameed and Ghee Festival, organized by the Hashemite Fund for the Development of the Jordan Badia (HFDJB), is scheduled to commence this Friday, July 31, at King Hussein Park. A significant number of cooperative and charitable societies from all over the Jordanian Badia will be participating in the event.
According to Jordan News Agency, Ayesh Qatarneh, the Director of HFDJB, emphasized that the festival serves as a vital marketing platform for jameed and ghee products produced by these societies, offering citizens an opportunity to make direct purchases. The festival not only showcases these products but also allows the public to explore items crafted by the women of the Badia while experiencing traditional Bedouin cuisine and cultural activities.
The event is set to run from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM on both Friday and Saturday. Qatarneh highlighted that the two-day festival is crucial for promoting dairy and cheese products made by women's societies from the northern, central, and southern regions of the Jordanian Badia.
Apart from its marketing and promotional aspects, the festival will also feature a variety of entertainment and artistic activities. These include charcoal drawing, camel riding displays, traditional cuisine, Bedouin poetry recitations, and artistic and folkloric performances that reflect the desert's heritage. A heritage corner will also be part of the event. Qatarneh extended an invitation to citizens, residents, and tourists in Jordan to visit the festival, enjoy its offerings, and explore its diverse programs.
