10,000 electric vehicle customs clearances in 8 months at Zarqa Free Zone

Zarqa Free Zone recorded 10,089 electric vehicle customs clearances during the January-August period of 2022, about 30 percent of total clearances of all types of vehicles in the Kingdom in the past eight months, which numbered 34,834, according to Jordanian Free Zones Association President Mohammad Bustanji.

He said in a press release on Saturday that 7,642 hybrids, 6,467 diesel engine vehicles and 10,636 gasoline-powered vehicles had been cleared during the eight-month period.

Bustanji pointed out that demand for electric vehicles is the highest at the Zarqa Free Zone, where buyers find a variety of options and dealers are keen to meet local market needs and avoid any shortages.
