Zarqa exports decline by 35 percent in April

Zarqa, The Zarqa reexport revenues dropped by 35 percent to JD22 million in April 2019 compared to the same period of 2018 due to a decline in exports to a number of Arab countries despite the opening of the crossings, according to President of Zarqa Chamber of Commerce Hussein Shraim.

“This was due to conditions imposed by these countries including the need for the importer to obtain a license to import Jordanian products in specific quantities and varieties and banning the entry of some commodities with the aim of protecting national products,” Shraim said.

He noted that the majority of Zarqa exports were vehicles and their equipment, construction materials, electric generators, home and office furniture, drugs and foodstuffs .
