Yemen foreign ministry condemns Marib missile attack

Yemen’s foreign ministry Sunday inveighed against the Houthi militia missile attack that targeted Marib, 120 kilometers east of Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, killing and wounding scores.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said: “In a flagrant violation of all international effort, UN initiatives and regional endeavours to bring an end to the bloodletting in Yemen and end the war there.

“And after a few days since the heinous crime whose victims’ blood have not yet dried, on the evening of 6 June, the Houthi militias targeted two residential neighbourhoods in Marib with two consecutive attacks; two ballistic missiles and two explosive drones respectively targeting a mosque during the Maghrib prayer and female prison.

“The attack killed eight martyrs and left 27 wounded, including women and medical staffs that had rushed to save the wounded in the first attack.”

The ministry urged the international community and the UN Security Council to shoulder their responsibilities and condemn the “heinous crimes” that undermine peace and hold the responsible actors accountable.
