Germany has pledged, under the Jordanian-German discussions on development cooperation for (2022-2023), to offer new development assistance to Jordan worth 413.9 million euros.<\/p>\n

Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Nasser Shraideh said that the amount, comprising grants, technical aid and soft loans, will be disbursed to fund priority development projects.<\/p>\n

The pledged assistance was distributed, the minister said, to 179 million euros as grants to support developmental projects, 89.4 million euros as grants for technical cooperation in developmental ventures, 50 million euros as development loan for water sector, in addition to 95.5 million euros as humanitarian aid to support the Kingdom in bearing the brunt of hosting the Syrian refugees.<\/p>\n

The aid also comprises 15 million euros as an additional grant for the National Water Carrier Project, as the total German distribution in this project with the current grant stood at 65 million euros.<\/p>\n

The Jordanian-German discussions covered a wide range of vital sectors in the Kingdom including education, water, sanitation, renewable energy, vocational training, and technical education.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
On the sidelines of the discussions, a \u20ac26 million grant agreement was signed between the German Development Bank (KfW) and Al Hussein Technical University (HTU), under which the latter will implement the second phase of a program carrying out by the university.<\/p>\n
