Commissioner General for Human Rights Aladdin Armouti and Charg\u00e9 d’Affairs of Ireland Embassy in Jordan, Sarah Dooley, on Monday discussed cooperation in the field of human rights.<\/P>
<\/P>
In the meeting, attended by the embassy’s policy officer, Ammar Mahmoud, Armouti highlighted the mechanism for receiving complaints related to human rights violations, noting that the complaints unit has employed new cadres in order to increase the capacity to deal with complaints the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR) receives daily, through a team of lawyers and specialists.<\/P>
<\/P>
He also pointed out the NCHR oversight role under its law, in terms of identifying places of violation that any person, residing in Jordan, whether a citizen or a resident, may be exposed to.<\/P>
<\/P>
For her part, Dooley expressed her appreciation for the NCHR’s role in promoting human rights, stressing her country’s desire to strengthen relations with the NCHR and boost cooperation with it on common issues.<\/P>
