On the sidelines of the fifth ministerial meeting of the Stockholm Initiative for Nuclear Disarmament and the Non-Proliferation Treaty, Safadi also met with Norwegian Foreign Minister, Anniken Huitfeldt, on ways to develop bilateral ties and regional developments.<\/P>
<\/P>
The ministers said their countries will continue enhancing bilateral cooperation in various fields.<\/P>
<\/P>
Safadi and Huitfeldt reviewed the outcomes of the ministerial meeting of the Ad Hoc Liaison Committee for the Coordination of International Aid to the Palestinian People (AHLC), which Norway hosted last month in its capacity as the chair of the committee. They said they will continue to coordinate efforts to support the Palestinian economy and activate efforts to achieve peace based on the two-state solution in accordance with international law.<\/P>
<\/P>
Safadi called for stopping all illegal Israeli measures that undermine the two-state solution, especially the construction and expansion of settlements, the confiscation of land and the displacement of Palestinians from their homes. He stressed the need to respect the historical and legal situation in the Al-Haram Al-Sharif \/ Al-Aqsa Mosque.<\/P>
<\/P>
He underscored the importance of Norway’s main role in supporting the Palestinian economy through its chairmanship of the AHLC and its efforts to support the peace process.<\/P>
<\/P>
He also valued the Norway’s support to the development process in the Kingdom and addressing with the refugees crisis.<\/P>
<\/P>
Safadi and his Norwegian counterpart, who stressed her country’s keenness to deepen cooperation and coordination with Jordan and value its role and efforts, agreed to continue consultations on efforts to activate the peace process and to identify priorities for cooperation in the next stage.<\/P>
