The Amman International Book Fair 2021 wrapped up Saturday evening with the participation of more than 360 local, Arab and international publishers from 20 countries.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Organized by the Union of Jordanian Publishers in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and the Greater Amman Municipality, this year’s 10-day edition of the exhibition was held under the slogans “Centennial of the Jordanian State” and “Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine”. The fair celebrated Jordan’s most prominent poet, the late Mustafa Wahbi al-Tal, better known as “Arar” and father of the late Prime Minister Wasfi al-Tal.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In a press statement on Sunday, Head of the Union of Jordanian Publishers, Jaber Abu Fares, voiced his gratitude to His Majesty King Abdullah for patronizing the exhibition over the past years. He also lauded the efforts exerted by the Ministry of Health and the epidemiological investigation teams, the Ministry of Interior, the Supreme Advisory Committee and the Media Commission.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
This year’s edition, he noted, brought a turnout of half a million visitors compared to previous years thanks to an extensive media campaign.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The event featured a diverse program, including prose and verse evenings, in addition to seminars devoted to culture and media in Jordan during the past hundred years and the publishing industry; challenges and prospects.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
