The value of the Qatari private sector’s exports to Jordan in the first half of 2021 rose by 17.6 percent, reaching nearly QR80 million ($22 million), compared with QR65 million ($17.8 million ) in the same period of 2020, according to statistics released on Thursday by the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI).<\/P>
<\/P>
During the last year, the value of Qatari private sector’s exports to the Kingdom exceeded QR131 million ($36 million), according to certificates of origin issued by the chamber.<\/P>
<\/P>
Speaking to Petra, QCCI vice chairman Muhammad bin Towar-Al-Kuwari said that the private sectors in Qatar and Jordan enjoy strong ties, calling for enhancing trade exchanges between both countries to serve bilateral economic and investment cooperation.<\/P>
<\/P>
“The Jordanian market is one of the main markets for the Qatari private sector and an important destination in the region,” he added.<\/P>
<\/P>
The Qatari exports to the Kingdom include chemicals, motor oils, polyethylene, polymers, sulfonic acid, iron wires, iron rods, plastic bags, aluminum briquettes, solvents and helium gas.<\/P>
<\/P>
The volume of trade exchange between Jordan and Qatar last year amounted to QR660 million ($182 million), compared to QR802 million ($220 million) in 2019.<\/P>
<\/P>
“More than 1,100 Jordanian-Qatari companies are currently operating in the Qatari market, most of which are working in trade, contracting, construction, interior design, maintenance, conference organization, services, education, carpentry, ready-made kitchens and others,” according to the QCCI.<\/P>
