{"id":46682,"date":"2021-05-26T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-26T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/jordannewsgazette.com\/?guid=f78c826e50dbba67fd5e2e02474f8230"},"modified":"2021-05-26T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-05-26T00:00:00","slug":"fm-japanese-counterpart-talk-ties-middle-east-peace-efforts-over-phone","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jordannewsgazette.com\/fm-japanese-counterpart-talk-ties-middle-east-peace-efforts-over-phone\/","title":{"rendered":"FM, Japanese counterpart talk ties, Middle East peace efforts over phone"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><P>Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi discussed with his Japanese counterpart, Motegi Toshimitsu, international efforts aimed at launching &#8220;serious and effective&#8221; negotiations to achieve a comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution, stabilize the ceasefire and stop the illegal Israeli practices that undermine chances of achieving peace in the region.<\/P><P><\/P><P>In a phone call Safadi received from Toshimitsu on Wednesday, the talks focused on strengthening relations within the framework of the joint strategic partnership and cooperation in all fields.<\/P><P><\/P><P>Lauding Japan&#8217;s position on the two-state solution, Safadi stressed the importance of Tokyo&#8217;s role in supporting international efforts to achieve a comprehensive and just peace based on the two-state solution, in accordance with international law and international legitimacy resolutions.<\/P><P><\/P><P>Safadi demanded Israel to respect the existing legal and historical status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities and stop the continuous attacks and violations in the occupied Palestinian territories and Al-Aqsa Mosque \/ Al-Haram Al-Sharif.<\/P><P><\/P><P>Israel&#8217;s practices in Jerusalem, including the expulsion of residents from their homes, are a &#8220;provocative act&#8221; that challenges international endeavors to achieve peace in the region, according to Safadi.<\/P><P><\/P><P>The Japanese minister, for his part, stressed the importance of the Hashemite custodianship over Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, lauding Jordan&#8217;s role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, to push the peace process forward, commending the Kingdom\u2019s recent efforts to achieve cease fire and restore calm.<\/P><P><\/P><P>Toshimitsu also expressed hope that the ceasefire agreement would lead to pushing comprehensive and just peace.<\/P><P><\/P><P>The two ministers agreed to continue continuous coordination and consultation, underlining the joint keenness to develop new mechanisms to push the strategic cooperation between the two friendly countries to &#8220;broader&#8221; prospects.<\/P><P><\/P><P>Source: Jordan News Agency<\/P><P><\/P><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi discussed with his Japanese counterpart, Motegi Toshimitsu, international efforts aimed at launching &#8220;serious and effective&#8221; negotiations to achieve a comprehensive and&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[29],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.6 -
