President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas and Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry Monday held talks in Ramallah where the former highlighted the developments in the Palestinian territories and efforts to end Israeli “aggression.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Abbas said the Palestinian Authority (PA) has been contacting the U.S., the UN and Arab states to bring an end to the Israeli authorities and Jewish settlers’ provocations and violations against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
He praised Egypt and the Arab states, among others, for their part in bringing an end to the Israeli “aggression” in the Palestinian territories, lauding President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi’s initiative to gather USD 500 million to rebuild the decimated Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
In turn, Shoukry reiterated his country’s support for the Palestinian struggle, stressing it will continue endeavors to unite the Palestinians.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
“I have delivered a letter from President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi to President Mahmoud Abbas that expresses full solidarity with the Palestinian people and the Palestinian National Authority,” Shoukry said, emphasizing “all the close coordination between the Republic of Egypt and the Palestinian National Authority are aimed at establishing a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.”<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
