Demonstrations on Sunday evening continued at the main junctions of several Arab towns in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948, in protest against the occupation’s escalatory measures at Jerusalem and the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and in support for the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, which is threatened with eviction in favor of extremist settlers.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Hundreds of people demonstrated on “Ben Gurion” Street in Haifa, and closed the street to traffic, in solidarity with Jerusalem, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, the Arab Follow-up Committee for the Palestinian People in the Occupied Territories in 1948 said in statement.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
Demonstrators chanted slogans in support of the families of Sheikh Jarrah who are threatened with displacement and against the military aggression on th Al-Aqsa Mosque, while the Israeli police tried to suppress the protest demonstration, attacked and arrested a number of demonstrators.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
These protests came to complement a series of protest steps approved by the popular committees and local authorities in various Arab towns in light of the occupation forces \u2019targeting the occupied city.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
The Arab Follow-up Committee called for demonstrating in various towns and organizing visits of delegations to Jerusalem and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, and to travel to Al-Aqsa Mosque, after the military aggression on Jerusalem and the holy Al-Aqsa Mosque.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
