\nCroatia’s ruling HDZ party won Wednesday’s parliamentary election, without securing enough seats to form a government, and with a decline from the result it achieved four years ago.<\/p>\n
According to preliminary results, the HDZ won 60 seats in the 151-seat parliament, compared to 66 seats in the 2020 elections.<\/p>\n
The participation rate in the elections was high, as an intense competition occurred between the current conservative Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic and the country’s left-wing populist President Zoran Milanovic, with hectic election campaigns.<\/p>\n
