\nTashkent: Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah took part today in the second ministerial meeting of the GCC-Central Asia Strategic Dialogue, held in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent.<\/p>\n
In a speech, the minister stressed the importance of continued coordination and consultation between the GCC and Central Asian countries, based on common values, interests, and deep historical ties, which have been growing in recent years.<\/p>\n
He also said it was important to nurture common interests, to make the two regions safe, stable, and prosperous, and give hope for a better future for all, adding that there is wide consensus in GCC and Central Asian countries on the importance of reaching peace, encouraging negotiation to find solutions, and supporting security, stability, and development.<\/p>\n
He reiterated the need for intensive efforts to ensure the internationally recognized rights of the Palestinian people, and to achieve peace through negotiations, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and th
\ne principles of international law.<\/p>\n
Prince Faisal also stressed the importance of continuing efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region, of arriving at a sustainable ceasefire, lifting the siege on Gaza Strip, and ensuring the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid there.<\/p>\n
He called for preventing the forced displacement of Palestinians, and urged the international community and the UN Security Council to permanently stop the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people.<\/p>\n
Saudi Ambassador to Uzbekistan Yousef Algahrah and Director of the Department of the GCC Countries at the Saudi Foreign Ministry Anas Alwasedey attended the meeting.<\/p>\n
