USAID program on supporting Jordanian associations concludes

Amman, The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in Jordan on Wednesday concluded a two-year program to help 11 Jordanian business associations strengthen their support for micro and small enterprises across the Kingdom.

Micro and small enterprises account for about 97 percent of private companies in Jordan and contribute about 40 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The USAID said the program started in 2016 to strengthen the capacity of business associations to better serve micro and small enterprises and enable them to become more competitive.

The program, implemented through the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), has helped many Jordanian business associations in the fields of governance, financial sustainability, communication and information, member services, policy and lobbying.
