US pulls out diplomats from Venezuela amid deteriorating situation
Washington, The United States has ordered the withdrawal of all remaining diplomatic personnel from its embassy in Caracas, citing the deteriorating situation in Venezuela.
“Like the January 24 decision to withdraw all dependents and reduce embassy staff to a minimum, this decision reflects the deteriorating situation in Venezuela as well as the conclusion that the presence of U.S. diplomatic staff at the embassy has become a constraint on U.S. policy,” the US State Department said in a statement late Monday.
White House National Security Adviser John Bolton on Sunday said that Venezuelan military officers were having conversations with opposition legislators “about what might come, how they might move to support the opposition.”
