Unemployment rate reaches 18.5pct in Q3 of 2017

Amman– The unemployment rate in Jordan reached 18.5 per cent in the third quarter of 2017, the Department of Statistics (DOS) reported Tuesday.

The DOS said the unemployment rate among males stood at 15.4 per cent and 30 per cent among females in the same period.

The unemployment rate in the 3rd quarter of 2017 signals a 0.5 per cent rise from the figure recorded in the 2nd of quarter 2017, according to the DOS.

Also, the unemployment rate rose by 2 percentage points for males and fell by 3.9 percentage points for females in the 3rd quarter of 2017 compared to the 2017’s 2nd quarter.
