Two hospital accountants sentenced to hard labour

A court in Amman Monday handed two employees in the Al Bashir Hospital hard labour sentences after they were found guilty of embezzlement.

The Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission (IACC) said in a statement the two female employees had worked as accountants; one was handed a five-year hard labour sentence and fined JOD10,000, the amount of money she had stolen.

The other employee was handed a commuted sentence of two and a half-year hard labour sentence because she returned the money she had embezzled.
