Turkey “neutralizes” 84 terrorists over past week

Amman, Turkish forces have conducted a counter-terror operation in rural areas of Ovacik district, during which a number of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants, who were hiding in a cave since Dec. 13, were “neutralized”, the state-run Anadolu news agency reported Friday.

Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralize” in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.

The troops have neutralized 84 terrorists on its soil and abroad over the past week, the country’s Defense Ministry said on Friday.
