Ten pharmacies closed in Irbid over violations
Irbid, The Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA) in Irbid Wednesday closed 10 pharmacies over selling of over-the-counter drugs.
Head of the Directorate of Drug in the JFDA, Wissal Haqish, said that the demands made by pharmacies in Jordan for certain types of drugs have exceeded the normal amounts needed, pointing out that the JFDA is implementing a campaign to control violators of the instructions to sell drugs.
The institution had delegated health directorates in governorates and gave them full powers to stem and follow-up with violations, she added.
Haqish explained that all pharmacies in violation will be dealt with in accordance with the law, especially that many regulations were issued by the JFDA that warn against selling drugs without prescriptions.
