Ten people killed in Iran unrest on Sunday: state media

Amman– At least ten people were killed during protests in Iran on Sunday night, according to state media, as the death toll from the country’s largest demonstrations since 2009 continued to rise.

Two people were reportedly shot to death while another two were killed when they were hit by a stolen fire engine in the small western town of Dorud, which has been a flashpoint for the protests.

It was not immediately clear where the other fatalities happened but the reports showed an escalation in violence as the protests entered their fifth day on Monday.
