Temporary committee will be named to run suspended Teachers Association
Amman, Education Minister Tayseer Nueimi said Saturday that his ministry will carry out an order by the General Prosecution to shut down the Teachers Association and suspend its bodies and members.
He said that an interim committee will be named in the next two days to run the syndicate, administratively and financially.
Nueimi also announced that the teachers’ increment, which was suspended along with that of all state employees in the military and civil service sectors amid the COVID-19 pandemic, will be reinstated for all employees as of January.
He also told Petra that the correction of the 2020 Tawjihi (general secondary education certificate) exams is proceeding normally and according to the set plan and procedures.
The Minister said that the exam results will be announced within the “expected timeframe.”
